When you get married, do it right the SECOND time!

Posted in Uncategorized on June 14, 2010 by artisanstudio

The second time?

Wayne and Fiona were already married, BUT decided to renew their vows to reaffirm their committment to one another. Awwwww…. :) They had their lovely daughters as their bridal party, and the girls went all out to make sure that this time was the way that they wanted to remember this wonderful day! The weather wasn’t as quite as accommodating as Wayne, but we had a blast (literally!) with the wind up Colson’s Hill!

Here’s a couple of images from the day, with more to come…  Enjoy!

Airports… gotta love an airport!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 15, 2010 by artisanstudio

We’ve always wanted to go overseas for a wedding… It would be nice! So when Denise and Michael mentioned that they were going to have shots at the airport, we figured this was definitely the next best thing!  They had a lovely reception at Willow Glen in Gordonton… Denise was so calm on the day as well – don’t worry Mike, you did a great job!  ( It’s always nice to see a concerned groom :) )

A few teasers – stay tuned!

O for Awesome? Or O for Ohope? Or O’Some Ohope! You pick!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 13, 2010 by artisanstudio

We had a great wedding day out at sunny Ohope with a lovely couple, Kirsty and Grant. It was a great day in terms of the warmth on the beach combined with wonderful blue skies, and once again we had a great bunch of people to work with :) The theme of the day was the 1920′s and the Prohibition Era… The whole wedding party was dressed in the theme of the day which made everything feel that *little* bit more special!

Major heart attacks avoided when our gear bag was returned by the wonderful guests and family of the couple…

Here’s a couple of teasers for now – More to come soon!

Sunny Tokoroa – with a great wedding day to match!

Posted in Uncategorized on March 11, 2010 by artisanstudio

Ah, Tokoroa. What more can you say.

Place to pass through? Perhaps. Place to stop? Not for too long… Place to grow up as a kid? Great! It’s just one of those places that really brings out the character in you… probably because there wasn’t much else going on for us kids (that we knew about), but it’s still a lovely place, believe it or not!

We had the pleasure of being at Lance and Chrystal’s wedding in rural Tokoroa – (two ex-Tokoroaians) it was a nice bright day (but not too hot) with friends and family from all over turning up for their wonderful day!

Lance got a wee bit emotional (as did Chrystal) – it was hard keeping a dry eye during the ceremony!

Here’s a couple of teasers with more to come – and if you’re standing under a tree, and your photographer says “don’t worry, nothing will hit you…”, chances are, it will… (Sorry again, Chrystal!)

Rainy Tauranga? Is it true????

Posted in Uncategorized on February 24, 2010 by artisanstudio

We had the pleasure of shooting Kelly and Grant in Tauranga, with their lovely ceremony and reception at the Olive Tree Cottage at Pyes Pa. It was raining.

Wait, you say. Rain?

In Tauranga??

Over Summer?????

Ok… it really wasn’t as bad as it sounds – Kelly and Grant were a great couple, with a lovely bridal party as well! We also had the opportunity to take some wonderful photos in downtown Tauranga – also around the wharf area, making for some lovely shots.  The light at that time was particularly stunning – have a peek!

Brilliant Bride & Brave Bridegroom + Big Brown Barn + Benign Bovine = Great Te Awamutu wedding!

Posted in Uncategorized on February 16, 2010 by artisanstudio

We had the pleasure of being a part of Dayna and Daniel’s wedding in rural Te Awamutu on a blazingly hot summers day… (I wonder if blazingly is actually a word?) It was great. Couldn’t really have asked for more!   In my humble opinion this was a fantastic example of a great rural Waikato wedding. I guess you had to check through the boxes (to really make sure) for this one…

Great weather on the day – check.

Tackling tremendous topography in Taupo… Nah, it was nice and flat. Lovely wedding though!

Hello world yet again! Still a wee bit behind in terms of the blogging and stuff but I’ll get back in the swing of things!

Nicky and I had a amazing day at the stunning River Lodge (just north of Taupo) with Warren and Fiona. SO much effort was put into the day – full credit to the wonderful couple, with the end result being a masterpiece of planning (and timing!), and some great photos to boot! Warren and Glen came down early in the morning to put down the aisle of balloons which was a lovely touch to the day… The ceremony was a wee bit of a tearjerker, the weather held out perfectly – it only just started raining when they had finished their outside photos literally – and the reception was a wonderful finish to the end of the day.

Here’s a couple of teasers as promised, with more to come!

Mighty Marvellous in Magnificent Morrinsville! (‘scuse the M’s)

Posted in Uncategorized on January 19, 2010 by artisanstudio

Morning! (couldn’t resist another M)

Nicky and I had a wonderful time in Morrinsville being a part of Glen and Lynda’s wedding – it was great fun being their wedding photographer! A fantastic, sunny summer day, (sunblock mandatory) with  people who were so much FUN! They were an absolute dream couple to work with, with plenty of great wedding photos.. here’s a couple, once again with more meticulous, mesmerising photos to come!

Wedding in the Redwoods with a twist (and a few turns!)….

Posted in Uncategorized on January 19, 2010 by artisanstudio

We had the pleasure of being a part of Dayna and Steve’s wedding in Rotorua, at the Skyline Skyrides venue. However, it wasn’t up at the main restaurant – it was down at the Redwoods! The weather was a touch damp (not great for wedding photographers with lots of cameras!) – it added to the drama of the day, wonderful stormy grey skies (with a bit of luge in the rain), but it didn’t stop our couple! Here’s a teaser with more to come :)

A Wedding in the King Country! (well Turangi / Taupo to be exact…)

Posted in Uncategorized on January 18, 2010 by artisanstudio

Pieter and Sentina flew over from the Netherlands to get married in a wee ceremony at Lake Rotoaira. Everything was kept simple, with just Gill, the celebrant and her husband, and the bride and groom being the only people there! Yet another sunny day in Taupo / Turangi (which is great), and the Celebrant presented the newly weds with a wedding cake – carrot with cream cheese frosting, and a freshly caught (and smoked) trout she had caught herself! Oh, and the photos were great…
